In conjunction with the University of Southampton, Far Analytics will gain access to genetic algorithm optimisation techniques for the design of structural composites in space.
24th of June 2020
Far-UK and The University of Southampton have started a project on design and manufacture of efficient composite structures for the space sector utilising genetic algorithm optimisation techniques and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). The team at The University of Southampton consists of Dr Adam Sobey (Associate Professor) and Dr Jeanne Blanchard (Research Fellow) who are world-leading experts in genetic algorithm optimisation techniques. The funding was secured from SPRINT, the SPace Research and Innovation Network for Technology, a unique partnership of top UK space universities, industry, government agencies and the investment community dedicated to supporting the growth of small to medium enterprises (SMEs) in the UK through the commercial exploitation of space data and technologies.
