Far-UK Limited working in collaboration with the University of Warwick, Warwick Manufacturing Group has started a one-year feasibility study part-funded by the Innovate UK. The project is to look at the following:
- To address the need for lightweight structures in the rail industry,
- To establish the potential application of Axontex™ beams,
- To look at new ways of designing car bodies and bogies for rolling stock,
- To determine the performance of Axontex™ beams in extreme conditions.
A small scale demonstrator will be produced as well at the end of the project.
The consortium would like to thank Innovate UK for support during the project.
